GOMBAK- - For the first time IIUM will become the host for ‘Karnival Sukan SUKSIS Universiti Awam Zon Tengah (SUKAT)” 2018/2019 session that will be held in its campus here on 20 and 21 April.

IIUM has confirmed to receive a total of 980 athletes from seven public universities that will be participated in the seven types of games to be contested.

The assistant programme manager, Muhammad Aidil Hakim bin Zahari, said: ” Preparations for the competition is reaching the last phase, where 90 per cent of the task has been completed in terms of equipment and venue.”

Meanwhile, IIUM SUKSIS’s athletes were reported to be in a ready condition, both in terms of physical and mental, for the competition after undergoing an intensive training in the last few months.

Moreover, IIUM SUKSIS’s contingent is targeting five types of games that have huge potential to contribute medals in the competition like the tug of war, women futsal, women volleyball and basketball, said Aidil.***
