With a strong academic background and extensive professional experience, he has made significant contributions to the field of pharmacy and healthcare research.

HeĀ holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, which laid the foundation for his understanding of pharmaceutical sciences and patient care. He further pursued his academic journey by obtaining a Master's degree in Pharmacy Practice, which equipped him with advanced knowledge in pharmacy-related research and clinical practice. Driven by his passion for advancing the field, he completed his Ph.D. in Psychological Medicine, further specializing in mental health pharmacy.

As an expert in mental health pharmacy, he possesses a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of psychiatric medications, their clinical applications, and their impact on patient well-being. His expertise extends beyond the realm of medication management, as he is well-versed in qualitative research methods in health services, allowing him to explore the patient experience and contribute to the development of patient-centered care strategies.

His research interests also encompass shared decision making, patient decision aid, pharmacoeconomics, and systematic review. Through his work, he strives to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and patients, empowering individuals to actively participate in their treatment decisions and ensuring that healthcare choices align with their values and preferences. His expertise in pharmacoeconomics and systematic review enables him to critically evaluate the economic impact of healthcare interventions and provide evidence-based recommendations for optimizing resource allocation.

He has amassed a wealth of practical experience throughout his career. He has served as a pharmacist at a government hospital, gaining firsthand experience in clinical practice and patient care. Building on this foundation, he ventured into academia, assuming the role of an assistant lecturer at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). As a pharmacy lecturer and later as an assistant professor at IIUM, he has been actively involved in teaching and mentoring students, shaping the next generation of pharmacy professionals.

His contributions extend beyond his academic and professional roles. He has been appointed as the Head of the Qualitative Research Group, where he spearheads innovative research initiatives and fosters collaboration among researchers. Additionally, Dr. Zaini serves as a copyeditor for the Journal of Pharmacy, ensuring the quality and integrity of published research articles. Furthermore, he is a respected reviewer for several esteemed journal publishers, contributing to the rigorous peer-review process that advances the field.
