The slogan is and has always been Quality Culture - The Key to Comprehensive Excellence and we focus at different topic each year that is :-

~  2002 - Istiqamah : Our Path to Quality.

Istiqamah means to follow the straight path, to remain firm in one's principles and not to give up when faced with difficulties or hardships.  It compels one to mean what one says and to perform deeds that will benefit all.  Those who have Istiqamah, Allah has promised them great rewards and blessings in the world and in the hereafter.
(Surah Fussilat 41 : 31-35)

2003 - Teamwork Towards Excellence.
Teamwork means cooperative effort by the members of a group or team to achieve a common goal.  The members in the team have complementary skills and are committed to a common purpose or set of performance goals for which they hold themselves mutually accountable.
The ability for continuous improvement is essential for all organizations and can be only achieved by improving the operation of key organizationals and can be only be achieved by improving the operation of key organisational processes.  People operated these processes, so the challenge is to encourage individuals to get involved and use the power of teamwork to deliver real performance improvement.  Success depends on creating the culture and providing the skills, tools and support to encourage and enable individuals at all levels in the organization to become involved.  Without proper training in the necessary tools and techniques, failure is almost certain to occur and one rarely gets a second chance.

2004 - Continual Improvement : Conquering the Heights of Excellence.
'Continual' is defined as a process or something that is constantly or frequently occuring and going on in rapid succession.  Improvement means to be better and progress or advance.
Hence, continual improvement can be reffered as a recurring activity to increase the ability to fulfill requirements or to increase the effectivenese of the management system and its processes.  In line with IIUM's mission and vision among others which is to provide quality and excellence in education besides striving to achieve its goals if Integration, Islamization, Internationalization and Comprehensive Excellence (IIICE), continual improvement is extremely essential to serve the purpose for gradual and ongoing progress in producing quality learning, administration, services including quality staff and students.  Weakness of flows can be detected and solutions or ways to overcome these weaknesses can also be avoided in the future.  By learning through previous mistakes, the University will then be able to ensure continual improvement in assuring and realizing its goals by being a more competitive institution of higher learning.
