Please read the
notice before your enter this lab:
Please DOs and DONTs when you are in this
laboratory. Observing safety precautions is very important
due to pronounced hazards in this lab. The most common
hazard is electric shock which can be fatal if you are not
careful.
It is COMPULSORY to wear Kulliyyah of
Engineering GREEN JACKET and covered shoes when entering
this lab. Anyone found no
adhering to this rule will NOT be allowed in the lab.
You must keep your bags at the
designated area. Bags should NOT be placed on or
under the workbench.
NO food and drinks are allowed in this lab.
Do NOT change your seats. The place you are
sitting now will be your workbench until the end of
semester.
Chairs and stools should be kept under the
workbenches when not in use. Sit upright on chairs or
stools, keeping feet on the floor.
Do NOT transfer equipment to other
workbench or other labs without my permission.
Follow the instructions of your lab
demonstrator while conducting the experiments. Do NOT
touch any equipments until you are told to do so.
If you have any injuries, the FIRST AID KIT
box is there
Power must be switched off whenever an
experiment or project is being assemble, disassembled or
modified.
Remember that capacitors can store
dangerous quantities of energy. After switching off,
discharge any capacitors that were in the circuit.
If you use electrolytic capacitors, do NOT
Put excessive voltage across them
Put AC across them
Connect them in reverse polarity.
Wearing a ring or watch can be hazardous in
an electrical lab since such items make good electrodes
for the human body.
NEVER touch any equipments or components
with wet or damp hands.
Horseplay, running or practical jokes must
NOT occur in this laboratory.
In an emergency, all power in this lab can
be switched off by pressing the LARGE RED button on the
main breaker panel. It is to be used for emergencies ONLY.
NEVER use water on electrical fire, use CO2
or a dry type fire extinguisher. The fire extinguisher is
there.
