International Relation and Scholarships, Office of the Deputy Rector (Internationalisation & Industry and Community Relations), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is offering a range of Scholarships to assist and encourage meritorious students to further excel in their academic studies to develop their personal abilities and academic qualifications in order to serve humanity and the Ummah.
Hence, IIUM is offering Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Scholarship to the new intake International students of the Semester 1, 2016/2017 session in September 2016.
OBJECTIVE:
Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Scholarship is an initiative by the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) to attract the best brain from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies in IIUM. This scholarship aims to support Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi & IIUMs’ effort to attract, motivate and retain talented human capital from abroad.
Meritorious international students with excellent academic records and outstanding co-curricular backgrounds are welcomed to apply for this scholarship and further their studies in IIUM.
CATEGORIES OF THE SCHOLARSHIP:
There are three (3) types of scholarship that are to be offered as follows:
· Ph.D
· Masters’
· Undergraduate
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
A: Eligibility Criteria (Ph.D):
§ Publication in reputable academic journals (preferable);
§ Applicants with IELTS of 6.00 or TOEFL 550, will be given priority;
§ Applicants must be offered by IIUM;
§ Scholarship will not be awarded to applicants from Executive programmes offered by institutes, centres, IIUM Center for Strategic
Continuing Education & Training; and Kulliyyah/Faculty of Medicine;
§ Applicants’ result of previous studies should be Excellent based on results’ status of the institutions he/she comes from; (Masters’ result);
§ Applicants shall not receive any scholarship or financial assistance from any other organization, institution or donor;
§ Applicants should be deserving and needy.
B: Eligibility Criteria (Masters’):
§ Publication in reputable academic journals (preferable);
§ Applicants with IELTS of 6.00 or TOEFL 550, will be given priority;
§ Applicants must be offered by IIUM;
§ Scholarship will not be awarded to applicants from Executive programmes offered by institutes, centres, IIUM Center for Strategic
Continuing Education & Training; and Kulliyyah/Faculty of Medicine;
§ Applicants’ result of previous studies should be Excellent or Very good based on results’ status of the institutions he/she comes from;
(Undergraduate result);
§ Applicants shall not receive any scholarship or financial assistance from any other organization, institution or donor;
§ Applicants should be deserving and needy.
C: Eligibility Criteria (Undergraduate):
§ Applicants with IELTS of 6.00 or TOEFL 550, will be given priority;
§ Applicants must be Excellent or Very good in their Foundation studies, College studies or Pre- University studies;
§ Applicants must be offered by IIUM;
§ Scholarship will not be awarded to applicants from Executive programmes offered by institutes, centres, IIUM Center for Strategic
Continuing Education & Training; and Kulliyyah/Faculty of Medicine;
§ Applicants shall not receive any scholarship or financial assistance from any other organization, institution or donor;
§ Applicants should be deserving and needy.
D: Value of Scholarship
Each scholarship consists of:-
a. ‘1’ return air ticket from recipient’s capital city to Malaysia.
b. Entrance fee.
c. An approved tuition fees.
d. Monthly maintenance allowance.
e. Annual grant for books.
f. Medical / Health Insurance.
g. Thesis allowance & graduation fees.
h. Fees of the Visa Approval letter (VAL).
