Malaysian Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (MISA), Center for Peace Initiative (CENPEACE), International Office (IO) and Office of Industrial Links (OIL), IIUM will conduct an event in commemoration of the 1948 massacre of Palestinians of Deir Yassin Village

Deputy Minister of Works Malaysia, YB Anuar Tahir will attend this event to recite a poem on Palestine and water the olive tree, as a symbol of Palestine Moving Forward in Green Intifadah. The 1948 massacre of Palestinians at Deir Yassin Village is one of the most gruesome events in the 20th century Palestinian history. This is not because of its size or brutality, but because it stands as the starkest early warning of a calculated depopulation of over 400 Arab villages and cities and expulsion of over 700,000 Palestinian inhabitants by Zionist to make room for survivors of the Holocaust and other Jews from the rest of the world.

As the promoter of sustainable, green and peace living, this event will be the catalyst for the Palestinian Moving Forward with Green Intifadah, which encourage them to plant more olive trees, herbal and edible plants for their sustainable living in the future.
