Symposium on Dispute Resolution in Islamic Finance

The Malaysian Current Law Journal (CLJ) would like to take this utmost pleasure and opportunity to invite you to register for the Symposium titled: “Dispute Resolution in Islamic Finance - Litigation or Arbitration”. This groundbreaking event is jointly organised by International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and Monash University, in collaboration with CLJ and supported by Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA).

We are honoured to have our Chief Justice, the Honourable Tan Sri Dato' Seri Md. Raus Bin Sharif to deliver the keynote address during this Symposium. Other distinguished speakers of senior level positions and guests will also be present during this symposium.

The Symposium, themed ‘Dispute Resolution in Islamic Finance: Litigation or Arbitration?’, assembles prominent high ranking leaders and scholars who have been instrumental in advocating the use of arbitration in Islamic Finance – indeed a fitting forum for proponents and opponents of litigation and arbitration in Islamic Finance to present their arguments.

Other pertinent issues, such as, inter alia, the role of Mualamat Division of the High Court in dispute resolution, mandatory arbitration clauses in Islamic Finance agreements, dispute resolution in Islamic Finance for banking sector and consumer perspective will be deliberated during the Symposium.
