CCSC CONDUCTS TRAINING FOR AIKOL LECTURERS TO IDENTIFY RISKS OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AMONG STUDENTS

Gombak, 2 April 2021. It is essential to identify risk factors affecting mental health of students so that initial focus could be given to vulnerable groups. According to Sis Nur Masturah Mohamad Arif, a counsellor at the Counselling and Career Services Centre (CCSC) of the International Islamic University Malaysia, by taking the right approaches, educators could help mitigate mental health problems.

In welcoming the training given by CCSC, Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) lays down the plan of the Kulliyyah to provide for the awareness, the tools and the facilities to ensure the mental health well-being of students and staff.


Sis Nur Masturah explains that today’s training is under the basic training phase. In the intermediate phase, CCSC will provides example of hands-on counselling practices to lecturers.

Today’s training is a follow up to the Round Table Discussion on Mental Health Issues organised with CCSC on 1 March 2021 and Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib expressed his thanks to  Bro Saiful Redza Mohamed (Covering Director) and Sis Nur Masturah for their continuous support.
