GOMBAK, 13 May 2019: SENDI Club had successfully held its Ibadah Camp 2019 on the theme “Ummatus Solehah” some two weeks ago (from 26 until 27 April) aimed at producing inspiring young Muslims who could guide their peers and enhance the fundamental knowledge of ibadah among its participants.

The event was held for two days (from 26 to 27 April) at Masjid Saidina Hamzah, Kampung Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur.

SENDI Club (also known as “Semaian Budi Club”) is a mentoring-based organisation under the supervision of the Centre for Community Engagement and Services (CENSERVE). It focuses on the inculcation of good akhlak and personality among primary school students in standard 4, 5, and 6 from three schools – SK Sentul 1, SK Sentul 2, and SK Batu Muda.

A total of 43 participants from SK Sentul 1, SK Sentul 2, and SK Batu Muda took part in the programme throughout the two-day event. Representing the Club were 36 IIUM students from various kulliyyah, which included committee members and mentors.

The participants from the three primary schools arrived at the venue of the programme around 3.15 p.m. on the first day began. The programme started with the recitation of do’a at 4 p.m followed by a briefing on the programme’s rules and regulations by the programme coordinator.

The first day of the programme continued with ice-breaking activities with committee members and mentors joining the activities to bridge the gap between the participants and committee members. Then, a demonstration session of wudhu’ and solat was held, followed by the practical session of wudhu and solat. Before the practical session of wudhu, the person-in-charge briefed the participants on the principles of wudhu’. Later, the theoretical explanation of solat started with the crossword puzzle activity and continued with the demonstration of solat.

The second day of the programme started with qiamulail. All committee members and participants performed qiamulail together and then prayed congregational Fajr prayers at the mosque.

After prayers, the programme continued with ‘Tadarus al-Quran’. The participants then had their breakfast and some games conducted after the self-preparation session. Then, explorace consist of six checkpoints that need to be visited by the participants in their respective groups. These checkpoints tested the comprehension of the participants on the topics related to al-Quran, ibadah, aqidah, adab, sirah, and sunnah to achieve the programme’s aim.

After the explorace ended, the participants gathered at the main hall for a drama presentation by each group. The drama presented by them was infused with Islamic values mentioned in the Prophet’s hadith. Consequently, the participants could learn from the hadith as this message was presented through the drama. At 12.30pm, the closing ceremony commenced and started with the prize-giving ceremony. The closing ceremony of the programme ended with a video presentation that recapped the activities of the programme.

Despite the programme being faced by several challenges in its execution, the committee members and mentors were able to successfully organise the programme.
