Putrajaya, 20 December 2021. IIUM wins both English and Malay categories in the Royal Malaysian Intervarsity Debating Championship 2021. Our special congratulations to students from AIKOL in the two teams.

1. General Information:

Four Preliminary Rounds: 11th & 12 Dec 2021 (Online)

Quarter & Semi Final: 18th Dec 2021 (Social Institute Malaysia)

Final (English category): 19th Dec 2021 (Zenith Hotel, Putrajaya)

Final (Malay category): 20th Dec 2021 (Zenith Hotel, Putrajaya)

The Royal Malaysian Intervarsity Debating Championship is considered as one of the most prestigious debate competitions in Malaysia. The debate was first introduced by IIUM using Malaysian Parliamentary format in 1995. Debaters only have 30 mins to prepare as motion for each round is only announced 30 mins before the competition. Debaters debated on various issues among others politics, economy, sports and human rights.
