Gombak, 18 June 2021. Contributions from the alumni of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) under the ‘Give to AIKOL’ campaign makes it possible for the Kulliyyah to cheer up AIKOL students in campus during the lockdown by distributing ‘Food Baskets’. The students are facing their final examinations of the semester.

Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of AIKOL expresses his thanks to the alumni for their contribution to the fund under ‘Give to AIKOL’ and he hopes that the students would contribute to the Kulliyyah after their graduation as shown by their elder brothers and sisters.  The AIKOL Alumni Wing lead by Bro Lukman Sheriff Alias continue to assist the Kulliyyah in looking after the welfare of the students (https://www.iium.edu.my/kulliyyah/AIKOL/aikol-alumni-wing).

Although the Food Baskets certainly do not measure up to the physical and mental health needs of the students who continue their study in campus during the Movement Control Order and COVID-19 pandemic, the Kulliyyah hopes that the gesture would sooth and reassure to a small degree the anxiety, loneliness and worry of the students in campus.

The AIKOL Law Students’ Society helps the distribution of the ‘Food Baskets’ through the Mahallahs. Mahallah Sumayyah, lead by its Principal, Dr Shamshina Mohamad Hanifa supports the distribution of about 180 ‘Food Baskets’ to undergraduate and postgraduate students of AIKOL.  Dr Tajul Aris Ahmad Bustami, the Deputy Dean (Student Development and Community Engagement) and Bro Anas Shamsudin, the Deputy Director, oversee the distribution of the ‘Food Baskets’.
