OBJECTIVES

The main purpose of this visit was to overview the nursing program offered by several universities in Thailand and Indonesia as well as to establish a memorandum of Undestanding (MoU) between Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM and the universities. the special objectives of the visit includes: -

1.  To benchmark the best practices in establishing the most innovative centre of excellence in nursing education specifically focusing on the-state-of-art facilities i.e. clinical practice laboratories, high fidelity simulation laboratories and others.

2.   To discuss with the respective faculty / school to assist Kulliyyah in development of future post-graduates program.

3.   To look for an opportunity to hold a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between these universities in areas of nursing specialty such as medical-surgical nursing, special care nursing, critical care nursing and professional nursing.

4.   To broaden the knowledge and experience in conducting nursing programme for example curriculum, teaching and learning and assessment methods, as well as to visit facilities i.e. lecture theatre, clinical skill centre of high fidelity simulation and others facilities provided by the faculty.

5.  To hold discussion and gain advice from the experts and scholars from various universities in Thailand and Indonesia to advise Kulliyyah and explore the possibilities of academic and research collaboration and further networking between the two institutions.    

6. To promote IIUM research activities for specially for establishment of collaborative research.

7. To promote IIUM as an international centre of nursing education with Islamic integration.
