On 4th of February 2020 until 8th of February 2020, Allied Health Sciences Student Society (HEALS) of Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences (KAHS) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Kuantan Campus has organized the first HEALS Outreach Mission Engagement 1.0 (HOME 1.0) in Kg. Semuroh, Ranau Sabah. This programme was a collaboration programme with Kelab Pembimbing Rakan Siswa Universiti Malaysia Pahang (PERSIS UMP), Majlis Belia Sabah and Jawatankuasa Kampung Semuroh, Ranau. This programme involved 24 representatives from HEALS IIUM included 4 advisors and 13 representatives from PERSIS UMP. This programme is considered successful as 363 participants participated in HOME 1.0 2020.

The objectives of this programme are to establish a platform to engage with the community in Sabah using the Kulliyyah expertise. Not only that, this programme also aimed to sharpen the soft skills of the HOME 1.0 participants. By conducting HOME 1.0, the quality of life of community in Ranau, Sabah can be improved by conducting health screening and talks on healthcare. Moreover, it helps to expose the students to culture of the community in Kg. Semuroh, Ranau, Sabah.

There a lot of activities which has been conducted during the 5 days and 4 nights of stay in Ranau, Sabah. Among of the programmes are motivational and healthcare talk, health screening session, visit to Rumah Putera Harapan, Ranau & Majlis Belia Sabah and friendly volleyball match between Kg. Semuroh villagers and participants of HOME 1.0.

HEALS managed to bring the expertise from KAHS to conduct the health screening. Among of the activities has been made were the eye examination by Department of Optometry and Visual Sciences, ear examination by Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology, blood pressure and blood glucose test by Department of Biomedical Science, consultation on diet and food intake by Department of Nutritional Sciences and body and posture examination by Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Sciences. Finally, throughout this programme, we learnt to always give benefits to others even at the lowest point of our life and always improve our self to be a better Muslim and Muslimah for the sake of Islam and the country.
