Gombak, 28 November 2021. IIUM participates in the 18th International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition (Malaysian National Rounds) 2021, on 26–28 November 2021, together with 7 other teams. The competition is organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent (ICRC) with partnership with local universities.

The IIUM team is represented by:

  1. Umy Marshita Binti Mohamed Azhar (Mooter)
  2. Nur Iman Taqiah Binti Mohamad Mazlan (Mooter)
  3. Nur Mirza Batrisyia Bt Hamat (Researcher).

The legal eagles emerge as the champion, and Sis. Umy Marshita win the Best Oralist Award. IIUM will represent Malaysia in the Asia Pacific Regional Rounds in early 2022. 

The team coaches are Sis. Iffah Nabiha Binti Ahmad Jailani and Dr Muhammad Amrullah bin Drs Nasrul. 


In another development, IIUM participated in the 16th LAWASIA International Moot 2021 (Malaysian National Rounds), on 10-12th September 2021, together with 20 other teams from 10 other universities in the round. IIUM team was represented by:

  1. Nur Umairah Binti Saari
  2. Muhammad Asyraf Hakimi Bin Zaid
  3. Bryan Sim

The team did not advance to the semi-final round. The team was coached by Sis. Inshirah Binti Mohd Amim.

The Moot Master for mooting competitions is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Hisham Mohd Kamal.
