Penang, 6 June 2021. Tun Abdul Hamid Mohamad, the former Chief Justice, recalls the humble character of Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim the first time he saw him in the National University of Singapore. His humble character remained throughout his life.

Tun Abdul Hamid Mohamad shares his interactions with Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim in an online forum in the memory of Almarhum Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim organised by the Shariah Sub-committee of the Penang Bar Committee co-chaired by En. Muneer Mohamed Farid and Pn. Noor Jannah Isahak. En. Habeeb Rahman moderates the forum.

Assoc Prof Mohsin Hingun from Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws shares the principled character of Almarhum Professor and his steadfastness to ensure the continuation of the integrated curriculum of the Kulliyyah of Laws.



Yang Arif Dr Arik Sanusi shares his experience in leading the Syariah and Harmonisation of Law Division at the Attorney-General’s Chambers. He emphasises the practical works that was done by the division together with other agencies in continuing the harmonisation efforts of Professor Emeritus Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim.



En. Muneer Mohamed Farid, who is also an alumnus of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, leads the doa for Almarhum Professor Emeritus Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim and others who have left this world.



Professor Farid Sufian Shuaib reminds the audience that the works of Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim in strengthening the Shariah institutions and harmonisation of Shariah and laws remains unfinished. In his wisdom, Almarhum Professor Emeritus had ensured the continuity of the effort by building an integrated curriculum at the Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia for the LLB(Honours), LLB(Shariah)(Honours), Master of Comparative Law (MCL), Diploma in Administration of Islamic Judiciary (DAIJ), Diploma in Shariah Legal Practice (DSLP), Doctor in Philosophy in Law and other programmes. 

He also reiterates that it is of utmost importance that the alumni of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws with the benefit of the integrated curriculum continue carrying the torch lighted by Almarhum Professor Emeritus and work together to strengthen the Kulliyyah that continue to mould integrated and balanced graduates.
