KAED to exhibit architectural heritage of Bangkok,Thailand

Gombak, – Kuliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) has successfully conducted the Heritage and Contemporary Studies Exhibition for the 13th time this year at the KAED Gallery, IIUM. The theme ‘MONOCLE: Voyage to a New Perspective in Bangkok, Thailand’ is a program from 18th to 20th February.
It is organised by the Department of Applied Arts and Design (AAD) and the Institut Kraf Negara (IKN). Many booths and food stalls are opened to promote Thai products such as notebooks, flutes, key chains and the likes.
The Program Manager of the event, Adrina Sofea Masri, stated that ‘the program focuses on the infusion between modern and traditional architectural designs of Thailand’.
The aim of this exhibition is to promote and cultivate the differences in cultures and provide students with a real learning experience, cultural immersion as well as appreciating the authenticity of Thai culture.
According to the Dean of KAED, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razak Sapian, the main two objectives of this event are for the enhancement of knowledge and skills of students who take up Contemporary Studies as well as inculcating teamwork upon completing the exhibition.
It is hoped that students from all kulliyyah get to benefit from the exhibition by appreciating the cultural heritage of other countries.
