“Let’s Reduce Smoking” – Organised by Yayasan Pahang in collaboration with IIUM Smoke-Free Campus

On 1st April 2021, IIUM Smoke-Free Campus (SFC) Flagship team was invited to conduct a quit smoking workshop and health screening program at Yayasan Pahang. The program was conducted to create awareness on the deleterious effect of smoking habit towards health as well as to encourage participation among smokers into the Quit Smoking Clinic (QSC) which is being provided by the IIUM SFC team. 

This program was successfully carried out with a total of 25 participants, who are the staff of Yayasan Pahang. From the survey conducted during the program, most of the participants were not aware of the existence of QSC and have expressed their interest to participate in the program.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) test – To measure the level of carbon monoxide in exhaled breath. This test is usually done to monitor the smoking status of a smoker. The more cigarette smoked, the higher the CO reading will be.
