Gombak, 29 September 2021. Professor Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) welcomes new members of AIKOL in starting their quest for knowledge, wisdom and skills of harmonised Shariah and law. Although the welcoming and introduction of the Kulliyyah is done online because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kulliyyah believe the new students are not less than eager to start their university life.
Professor Farid Sufian Shuaib extend his thanks to the Law Student’s Society, the senior students and colleagues who volunteers to be the facilitators and resource persons during the Taaruf Week.
Choosing to come to the Kulliyyah means that students subscribe to the mission of AIKOL in working towards just laws and just legal systems through harmonisation of Shariah and law which is championed by balanced graduates.
To achieve this mission, the curriculum of AIKOL fulfils the need of the legal profession for them to have the grounding to become competent and outstanding legal practitioners. At the same time the curriculum also provide AIKOL graduates the opportunity to enter into Shariah legal practice and to have the harmonised view of the profession and the life in this world.
Although the coming Semester 1 is to be conducted online, the Kulliyyah welcomes students to stay on campus and hopes that the situation will permit extended in-person classes in Semester 2 in early 2022.
The Office of the Deputy Dean (Student Development and Community Engagement) which is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Yazid Zul Kepli organises the Taaruf Week with the assistance from the AIKOL Law Student’s Society.
