SYMPOSIUM: REVISITING THE ISLAMIC GIFT ECONOMY!
On 6th April 2019, Economics Students Society (ECONSS) has organised a symposium on Islamic Gift Economy. This programme was attended by approximately 160 students from various departments.
The objectives of this programme are:
• To provide fundamental knowledge about Islamic Gift Economy to the participants
• To promote and encourage intellectual discussion among of students.
The symposium was divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The speakers for morning session were:

Prof. Dr. Mohd Nazari Ismail ~ Islamic Gift Economy-What Prevents Us?
Meanwhile, in the afternoon session, a forum on ‘Youth and Volunteerism’ was held. It featured Mdm Martinelli Hashim from CENSERVE and Br. Haziq Aziz who is the SRC from Kuliyyah of IRKHS as the panellists. Last but not least, a group of students who are known as IGE Mini Research Group presented their finding of their study on Islamic Gift Economy. They also suggested one IGE model to be implemented as a project when they enter the kuliyyah later on.
