Bachelor of Nursing (Honours)

Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) is an undergraduate degree programme offered by Kulliyyah of Nursing, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). This programme has been designed to prepare nurses for entry-level professional practice and, at the same time, provide a strong basis for postgraduate study.

Programme Description

The programme is of four (4) years duration and incorporates a substantial amount of guided clinical practise in hospitals and health care settings as well as a range of campus-based theoretical and clinical-based teaching/learning activities.

Entry Requirements

STPM

1. A minimum CGPA of 2.5 for STPM; and

2. A minimum of:

• MUET - Band 3
• English for SPM - 4B/B; and

3. A minimum of 6C/C for any of the subjects below for SPM:

• Bahasa Melayu
• Pendidikan Islam / Tasawwur Islam / Pendidikan al-Quran & as-Sunnah / Pendidikan Syariah Islamiah
• Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
• Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Biology

4. A satisfactory standard of health.

5. Pass the interview.

6. Pass English Placement Test (EPT) conducted by IIUM with a minimum overall band of 6 and 5.5 for writing and reading skills.

MATRICULATION/FOUNDATION

1. A minimum CGPA of 2.50 for matriculation; and

2. A minimum of:

• MUET - Band 3
• English for SPM - 4B/B; and

3. A minimum of 6C/C for any of the subjects below for SPM:

• Bahasa Melayu
• Pendidikan Islam / Tasawwur Islam / Pendidikan al-Quran & as-Sunnah / Pendidikan Syariah Islamiah
• Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
• Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Biology

4. A satisfactory standard of health.

5. Pass the interview.

6. Pass English Placement Test (EPT) conducted by IIUM with a minimum overall band of 6 and 5.5 for writing and reading skills.

DIPLOMA

1. A minimum CGPA of 2.50 for Diploma of Nursing(*), registered with Nursing Board of Malaysia (LJM), and have Annual Practicing Certificate (APC), with  TWO (2) years working experience

OR

A minimum CGPA of 2.50 for any Diploma; and

2. A minimum of 4B/B in English for SPM; or Band 3 in MUET; and

3. A minimum of 6C/C for any of the subjects below for SPM:

• Bahasa Melayu
• Pendidikan Islam / Tasawwur Islam / Pendidikan al-Quran & as-Sunnah / Pendidikan Syariah Islamiah
• Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
• Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Biology

4. A satisfactory standard of health.

5. Pass the interview.
