Admission Requirements for Postgraduate Programmes
1) Master’s Programme
- General Academic Qualification
- Specific Requirements
- Research Proposal
- A relevant Bachelor's degree (honours) from the IIUM or any other accredited institution of higher learning; or
- Any other certificate that is recognised as equivalent to a Bachelor's degree (honours) or other relevant professional qualifications and experience that are recognised by the Senate of the University.
- Obtained a CGPA of 2.75 and above in a related field; or
- Obtained a CGPA less than 2.75 but possesses relevant working experience in the field applied.
- A suitable Research Proposal is required from 'Master by Research only' applicants.
2) English Language
- Applicants are required to provide evidence of having attained the minimum score of the Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL) or of the International English Language Testing System(IELTS) or the IIUM administered English Placement Test (EPT) with the minimum required score or above as listed in the table below, to enrol into the University as a regular student for a postgraduate programme.
- Applicants who have achieved the required score for IELTS or TOEFL must make sure that the results are still valid within the prescribed validity period of the relevant examination body.
- Exemption may be given to those who have undertaken regular programmes of studies and graduated from Universities that use English as the medium of instruction in English-speaking countries or who have graduated from the IIUM in a programme with English as the medium of instruction.

3) Arabic Language
- An applicant intending to pursue a programme with Arabic as the medium of instruction must attain a minimum score of 7.0 in the IIUM administered Arabic Placement Test (APT) before being allowed to commence his/her postgraduate studies.
- Exemption may be given to those who have undertaken regular programmes of studies and graduated from Universities that use Arabic as the medium of instruction in Arabic-speaking countries or who have graduated from the IIUM in a programme with Arabic as the medium of instruction.

4) Malay Language
All international Postgraduate Students enrolled in programmes with Arabic as medium of instruction or programmes with "Research Only" mode and thesis written in Arabic are required to register for (1) introductory course in Bahasa Melayu as a graduation requirement.

Application for Registration
The deadline for submission of admission application forms for all international applicants is as follows:

Third Semester/ June Intake(By research only) the short semester and comprises only 8 weeks of studies | February 10 of the year |

- Any application forms received after the deadline will be processed for the next intake.
-In the event that your application is submitted after the deadline for the particular intake and you would like to register for the said intake, a payment of RM600 must be prepared in advance for the Journey Performed Visa. You will also need to inform CPS in writing and the office will process your application provided that you support your application with the required documents.
-The university reserves the right to approve your admission into a programme that is academically suitable for you.
- Please be reminded that the university is not responsible for your accommodation should you arrive earlier that the date of enrolment as per stated in your offer letter.
