Master of Library and Information Science (by Coursework & Thesis)

MLIS programme is the first of such programme in Malaysia. It began in 1992 aiming at producing future professionals who can meet the diverse needs of the information market. It can also be pursued on part-time basis by taking courses in the evenings and over the weekend. Working librarians, information managers, teachers, government officers, etc. who wish to enhance their competencies in any particular area may enroll in courses based on their interests. This programme is designed to provide multidisciplinary understanding of contemporary library and information science for students regardless of their first degree.

Why Study Library and Information Science in IIUM?

Entry Requirements

 

Entry Requirements

1. A good bachelor's Degree from any academic institutions recognized by the Malaysian Public Service Department (JPA) with a second class upper or equivalent.

2. A postgraduate diploma in library and information science recognized by the Malaysian Public Service Department (JPA).

3. English language proficiency at advanced level as determined by the IIUM Language Assessment Test or at least TOEFL 550 (paper based) or IELTS 6.
