IIUM Researchers are invited to apply using the MyGRANTS system via the https://mygrants.gov.my link starting January 6, 2020

The Opening of FRGS  and PRGS Phase 1 of 2020 is based on the following seven (7) research domains:

1.     Information and Communication Technology (ICT);

2.     Technology and Engineering (TK);

3.     Pure and Applied Science (STG);

4.     Health and Clinical Sciences (SKK);

5.     Social Science (SS);

6.     Literature and Literature (SSI); and 

7.     Natural and Cultural Heritage (WAB) .

The TRGS and LRGS Phase 1 of 2020 is based on fourteen (14) paper calls for proposals under eight (8) research clusters as follows :

4. RESEARCHERS

  1. Applications for research grants are open to all researchers who meet the requirements and criteria. 
  2. The Project Leader must have completed and completed the Performance Report for projects approved in the previous phase of the MyGRANTS Monitoring Module (excluding RAGS 2012-2013, RACE, LRGS,  NRGS);  
  3. Researchers are only allowed to submit one (1) application as Project Leader for FRGS or PRGS; and one (1) application as Project Leader for TRGS or LRGS; and 
  4. Researchers need to update and complete Researcher Profiles (including Personal Information, Projects, Publications, Intellectual Property (IP), Supervision, Teaching, Consultation and Community Service) and must be certified by RMC in MyGRANTS. The Ministry reserves the right to reject the application if the information is not updated or incomplete.

5.THE AMOUNT OF ALLOCATION AND THE DURATION OF THE RESEARCH:  

  • The FRGS application ceiling is RM250,000.00 for two (2) or three (3) years research;
  • The PRGS application ceiling is RM500,000.00 for one (1) to two (2) year research period;
  • The TRGS application ceiling is RM1,500,000.00 (for the first year, not exceeding 50% of total) for three (3) years of research;
  • The LRGS application  ceiling is RM3,000,000.00 per year for three (3) to five (5) years of research.

6. SUBMISSION OF COMPLETED PROPOSAL:

YBhg. Tan Sri / Datuk / Dato '/ Prof. / Assoc. Prof. Dr./ Asst. Prof. Dr. are reminded that  it is important to ensure that ALL applications are submitted on a timely basis and have met all

of the requirements as per policy and guidelines. The RMC reserves the right to reject any applications if conditions are not met.

* IMPORTANT NOTES:

Registering at MyGRANTS System: For those of you who have not yet registered their details in the MyGrants system, please do so,

Updating profiles at MyGRANTS System: Researchers who have updated their profiles in the MyGrants System . Should you update your profile at MyGRANTS and if turns pink in the system, please call any of the officers at the RMC to reverify you.

Research with IMPACT FACTOR: to ensure a competitive research proposal, do ensure that your research proposal will directly impact the society, especially the Malaysian society.

*You are reminded once again to please ONLY USE INTERNET EXPLORER when using the MyGRANTS System. DO NOT use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari or any other networks to access the MyGRANTS System. DO NOT use MACINTOSH computers or any Apple devices.

*Should you update your profile at MyGRANTS and if turns pink in the system, please call any of the officers at the RMC to reverify you. 

For the Financial Budget of PRGS & FRGS, please take note:

5.2 USAGE OF FUNDS

5.2.1 These are not allowed to purchase:  communications equipment, office equipment and hardware such as workstations, laptops, iPads, hand phones, printers, toners, stationery and any purchases that are not directly related to research projects.

5.2.2 It is not allowed to make the payment of Management/Administrative charges using the research grant. 

*  Vote 21000 - TRAVELLING AND TRANSPORTATION

FOR OVERSEAS TRAVELLING: You are only allowed to go for Overseas travelling in the 2nd and 3rd Year Only. No Overseas travelling in the first year is allowed. 

* Purchase of Books and Journals are not allowed.
