IIUM Rector Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin said IIUM is working out on series of strategic plans to become the Premier Global Islamic University in future.

This is in tandem with the aspirations of the IIUM’s 30th anniversary celebrations and future development of the university, she said in her speech delivered at Al Liqa’ Al Shaari No.9, held at Cultural Activity Centre, IIUM Gombak on 18th October 2012.

She pointed out the future roadmap that will propel the university to greater heights until the year 2020 consists of the core values or six pillars namely Quality Teaching and Learning, Research and Innovation, Internationalisation, Holistic Student Development, Talent Management, and Financial Stability.

Each one of these pillars has a champion and each one is expected to communicate to all staff the aspirations and noble intentions of IIUM’s pathway to become the Premier Global Islamic University.

The Rector also said IIUM also can play a positive role to assist Bangsamoro in Midanao, Southern Philippines by providing them a platform through training, vocational re-skilling and education.

At the end of the functions she received mock cheques worth RM 150,000 from Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, (RM 30,000) BI Consulting Engineers Sdn. Bhd, and (RM 20,000) Nik Jari Associates Sdn. Bhd. on behalf of IIUM Endowment Fund.
