The degree is a taught programme which involves full-time coursework and classes. Foundation in the concepts, principles and technologies of current pharmaceutical industrial matters, as well as management skills, are incorporated into the curriculum, to equip future industrial personnel who will be able to perform efficiently. The Kulliyyah Pilot Plant facility which will soon be operating will support student learning particularly for practical sessions. Currently, the set up of the plant is according to GMP requirement and the Kulliyyah is now working to get the pilot plant facility to be GMP certified by the Ministry of Health.

With the exception of Industrial Training,  the programme follows the Block system whereby two blocks is equivalent to one full semester of fourteen weeks.

Entry Requirements

Admission Requirement

Bachelor of Pharmacy OR Bachelor of Science OR Bachelor of Engineering (Pharmaceutical or Chemical) with good grades from IIUM and other IIUM recognized University both local and international.

English Language Requirement

Satisfactory proof of proficiency of the English Language by either:

  • Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550;

OR

  • International English Language Testing Services (IELTS) with a minimum band of 6.0;

OR

  • IIUM administered English Placement Test (EPT) with a minimum score of 6.0;

OR

  • Proof of attendance or prior education in English-medium institution that may be exempted from the requirements of TOEFL, IELTS and EPT at the direction of the Postgraduate Admissions Committee.
