Gapur Oziev, born in 1974 is from the Republic of Ingushetia (Russian Federation). Upon mastering English and Arabic he joined International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 1998 and graduated in 2002 majoring in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh and Usul Fiqh) and minoring in political science. He remained at the university to complete his Master and Phd in 2004 and 2008 respectively.
