Centre for Teaching & Learning (CTL) would like to invite IIUM academic staff to attend a training course with the following details:

Programme       :       Technology Enhanced Active Learning (TEAL) Workshop

Date / Day        :       16th - 17th October 2017

Time                  :        9:00 am - 5:00 pm (Registration start at 8:30 am)

Venue                :       Learning Space CTL, Level 1 Kulliyyah of Education, IIUM Gombak Campus

Objective of the programme:

Technology-Enhanced Active Learning (TEAL) 

Program description

Adopted from AKEPT’s Interactive Lecture Module, the TEAL program introduces fresh and current 21^st century pedagogy, incorporating available technology into the classroom. Addressing blended learning, active learning, as well as advocating constructivist and connectivist learning theories. IIUM academics will be exposed to collaborative learning tools, content curation tools and also hands-on sessions working with technology to enhance student learning.

Program rationale

Information technology advancement is the reality of the 21^st century. Today’s higher education institutions need to evolve from traditional lecture and teacher-centered classrooms to more dynamic, technology-incorporated student-centered classrooms. Mismatch between the educational institutions and the industry include poor graduate technology literacy in knowledge and skills development as they were not exposed to the usage of technology for these purposes. It is vital for 21^st century academic to be well-versed with current technology and the application in education.

This course is limited to 30 participants only, on a "first come first served" basis. Therefore, we will close the registration even though the registration period is still open.  

The registration closing date is before  6th October 2017.
