Expert Profile
Dr. Nur Affah Mohyin brings a wealth of expertise and leadership in Quantity Survey and Construction Management, with a distinguished career encompassing academia, research, and program development. Currently serving as the Head of the Technology Transfer Office at the Research Management Center, she is deeply involved in fostering a research culture and advancing the commercialisation of technologies and innovations.
Her current research focuses on the crucial area of financial sustainability in elderly care centres, reflecting her commitment to addressing societal challenges through rigorous academic inquiry. She has mentored numerous postgraduate and undergraduate students, guiding research endeavours primarily in Construction Management, Human Resource Management, and Ethics in Construction. A dedicated member of the Sustainable Facilities Management Research Group, Dr. Nur Affah has also contributed significantly as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Architecture, Planning, and Construction Management.
Dr. Nur Affah's administrative roles have included leadership positions such as Head of the Quantity Surveying Department and various pivotal roles within academic governance. She spearheads the development and enhancement of educational programs, notably the Bachelor of Quantity Surveying and the Master of Construction Business programs. As an educator, she has imparted knowledge through courses such as Principles of Measurement and Estimating for Building Works, Strategic Management of Construction Business, and Research Methods for the Built Environment.
Her engagement extends beyond academia; she was attached to CIMB Group through the CEO@Faculty Programme 2.0 in 2018, gaining invaluable experience in corporate CIMB Group Human Resources and philanthropic initiatives at CIMB Foundation. Her commitment to community engagement is evident through her involvement in initiatives like CIMB Mozek, Young ASEAN Leaders, Be$mart Financial Literacy Programme, LIGHT Leadership Enrichment Initiatives Programme, and projects focused on eldercare and indigenous communities. Dr. Nur Affah's multifaceted contributions across academia, research, and community service underscore her dedication to advancing knowledge, fostering sustainable practices, and enriching societal well-being through education and research leadership.
