Expert Profile
Professor Dr. Jamal Ahmed Bashier Badi graduated from Portland State University in 1982 with a B. SC. in Science with minor in Psychology. He obtained his B. A. in Da’wah & Usuluddin from International Islamic University of Madinah in 1986. He furthered his postgraduate studies in Madinah Islamic University and obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. in Usuluddin in 1990 and 1994 respectively. Finally he obtained a High Diploma in Human Sciences from IIUM in 2001.
He joined Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences in July 1994-1998, 1999-2005 & 2006-2018.
He is currently a Professor at the said Kulliyyah. He has authored his first book: Creative Thinking an Islamic Perspective in 2004. He published his book: Commentary on Forty Hadith in 2008 and the second edition in 2016. His book: Islam and Creative Thinking is scheduled to be launched by November, 16 2017. He is currently working on a student textbook titled: Islam: the Spirit of Creativity. He has written a number of articles published in both local and international journals and has also presented papers at conferences in the area of Creative Thinking from an Islamic perspective.
He is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board and Board of Reviewers of the Journal of Al Tajdid, Islam in Asia and other journals published by other universities such as MEDIU and USIM.
