Expert Profile


Sanisah binti Saidi obtained her Diploma in Nursing and Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) from University Kebangsaan Malaysia and registered with Nursing Board of Malaysia. Upon completion her diploma and nursing registration in 1999, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia ( in Intensive Care Unit) for five years before continuing her study in a Bachelor degree. In 2006 she joined Kulliyyah of Nursing IIUM as Assistant Lecturer and continue her study on MSc Advanced Nursing at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. Upon completion of Master Degree, she continues serving Kulliyyah of Nursing IIUM as lecturer. She continued her study in PhD in Nursing at the University of Manchester United Kingdom. Upon completion of her PhD, she returned to Malaysia in July 2015 and continue her work as a lecturer at the Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM. Her research interest is on the management of long-term conditions and health service research. Her research works revolved around supporting patients with self-care focusing on type 2 diabetes and embracing patient-centred care in the management of long-term conditions in Malaysia. Presently, Sanisah is a lecturer and Deputy Dean Academic Affairs of Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM.
