Expert Profile
She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, IIUM. She has written numerous articles and published in journals and also presented papers at conferences in the area of health psychology, behavioural science and community health. Her area of specialization includes eating behaviour, needs assessment, community health, weight loss behaviour, body image and qualitative inquiry. Her research interests are directed primarily at improving the health of the community, especially those at risk of obesity either by qualitative or mixed-method approaches. Specifically, her research is aiming to examine the interplay between behavioral and social aspects in eating behaviour, and their influence to the health of the community. She received research training in qualitative research methods by Qualitative Research Association of Malaysia (QRAM) and attended NVivo course. She continuously serves as manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Health and Social Care in the Community, Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences, IIUM Centre for Islamization (CENTRIS) and few proceedings. She is also a member of Malaysian Study of Obesity (MASO) and QRAM.
