THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY CO-CURRICULUM CONFERENCE (NUCC) 2019

The National University Co-Curriculum Conference (NUCC) 2019 was organized by the Majlis Kokurikulum Universiti-Universiti Awam Malaysia (UNICC) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in collaboration with the Holistic Student Division, Higher Education Department (JPT) with the theme, “Innovations in co-curricular to enhance student development”. The conference was held from 10-11 July 2019 at UPM.
The inaugural conference has successfully compiled 43 conference papers and 20 innovations in credited co-curricular courses from 17 public universities.
The purpose of the conference is to provide exposure and sharing of procedures for co-curriculum credited courses and the importance of the element of soft skills that should be applied in every credited co-curriculum course. It coincides with the JPT’s aspirations of enhancing 7 key human skills (communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills, teamwork, continuous learning and information management, entrepreneurship, moral and professional ethics as well as leadership) of students through the 8 main thrusts (sports, culture, innovation and innovation, public speaking, volunteerism, community service, entrepreneurship and leadership) in producing holistic individuals.
IIUM submitted and presented 4 papers and exhibited 2 innovations at the conference.
