Airul Azizan Zainudin serves as an esteemed Assistant Professor at the Kulliyyah of Nursing, International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), where he contributes his vast expertise in nursing informatics, nursing education, technology-enhanced learning, entrepreneurship, user-centered design, and usability. A proud alumnus of IIUM, he earned his Bachelor of Nursing in 2011, demonstrating early on his commitment to advancing healthcare through education and practice. Before embarking on his academic journey, Airul honed his skills as a registered nurse at a renowned renal care center, where he developed a foundational understanding of patient care and medical practices. His passion for integrating technology with healthcare led him to a pivotal role in a healthcare IT solutions company. There, Airul worked collaboratively with IT programmers and medical practitioners to design, test, commission, and train staff on innovative healthcare management products and services. His efforts have significantly impacted clinic management systems across Malaysia, benefiting over 50 general practitioners with enhanced operational efficiencies. In pursuit of further excellence, Airul expanded his academic credentials with a Master of Informatics from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2016, followed by a PhD in Nursing from IIUM in 2022. These achievements underscore his interdisciplinary approach to nursing, blending information science with healthcare to foster advancements in the field. As the Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship Development Centre at IIUM from 2022 to 2023, Airul demonstrated exceptional leadership in promoting entrepreneurial skills among students and faculty, further highlighting his versatility and commitment to fostering a holistic educational environment. His scientific pursuits and contributions continue to pave the way for innovations in nursing and healthcare education, embodying a relentless pursuit of knowledge and improvement in both practice and pedagogy.
