Expert Profile
Siti Inarah Hasim joined the Department of Psychology at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as a lecturer and clinical psychologist in 2019. Prior to joining IIUM, she served as a medical doctor in public service for a few years. She teaches various subjects, including Introduction to Psychology, Personality Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Neuropsychology. Additionally, she supervises undergraduate industrial training, final-year projects, and clinical supervision. Inarah is also a certified translator from the Institut Terjemahan dan Buku Malaysia (Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books) and is involved in translating documents and books—both fiction and non-fiction—for general and academic audiences. Her research interests include the adaptation and validation of a psychological test to assess Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Currently, she is working on her doctoral research, which focuses on developing an Islamic mindfulness parenting module for Muslim parents with atypical children. Inarah has undergone various training and is a certified Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC) trainer, as well as a mindfulness teacher. She attended the Teacher Training in Mindful Parenting, led by Dr. Susan Bögels. Inarah is a registered clinical psychologist and a member of several professional bodies, including the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology and the Malaysian Marriage and Family Therapy Association. She works with both children and adult cases within university settings and public communities.
