Expert Profile
Zera Zuryana holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in economics from International Islamic University Malaysia with a particular interest in international trade. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics specializing in international trade from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
Prior to pursuing her master’s degree, she worked as the Assistant Director at the Multilateral Trade Policy and Negotiations Division in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Malaysia (MITI). In this division, she served the World Trade Organization (WTO) Unit and the Trade Practices Section. She also has working experience at the Lifestyle and Life Sciences Section in Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). In 2014, she was offered a scholarship by the International Islamic University Malaysia for a master’s and doctorate degree in economics.
She joined the Kulliyyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS) IIUM as a lecturer in 2022. She has written several articles published in both local and international journals and presented papers at conferences in the area of international trade.
