Expert Profile
Dr. Poey Tiang Peow obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Chinese Studies and Malay Studies from the University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He obtained his Master of Education in Educational Planning Administration from the Faculty of Education, University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Besides, he also obtained his Master of Advanced Business Practice, Faculty of Business and Administration from the University of South Australia (UniSA), Adelaide, Australia. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy of Chinese Studies from Faculty of Social Science and Arts, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
As a Chinese Language expert and scholar, he has been teaching the language for more than 30 years. He had published four books entitled Elementary Chinese Level One; Elementary Chinese Level 2; The Standards for Being a Good Student, namely Dizigui from the Perspectives of Chinese Culture; The Importance of Inter-Religious Dialogue to Promote World Peace; and a number of research papers in Chinese Language.
Presently, Dr. Poey Tiang Peow is a Mandarin Lecturer at the Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD), International Islamic University Malaysia. His mission in life is to be a continuous learner and impart knowledge to others as well as to share information. More than three decades of teaching, training and counselling experiences made him more perfect in the concerned area. He has developed a Chinese Language Learning Programme for the non-Chinese speaking community.
