ALUMNI CALL ON AIKOL TO GIVE MORE FOCUS TO THE ISSUES OF INCOME INEQUALITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE IN REALISING THE ROLE AS THE TRUSTEE

Gombak, 26 November 2021. In the continuing process of alumni engagement, Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) meets with Bro Mohamed Rafe Mohamed Haneef, the Chief Executive Officer, CIMB Islamic Bank, an alumnus of AIKOL, together with Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Yazid Zul Kepli, the Deputy Dean (Student Development and Community Engagement), AIKOL.
Bro Mohamed Rafe highlights the pressing issues of income inequality and climate change in the country. He invites the Kulliyyah to organise and to venture on programmes and research projects on those issues.
Prof Farid Sufian welcomes the suggestion and underlines the works of the Kulliyyah which are aligned with the thrust of the University under the vision of harmonisation including current research work of the ERASMUS+ to offer an LLM programme on climate change and to set up a Climate Change Policy and Law Centre (CCPLC).
Bro Mohamed Rafe congratulates the Kulliyyah in the effort on alumni engagement. He suggests for the Kulliyyah to accentuate and specify works and projects that alumni would be excited to be associated with.
