Gombak, 6 February 2020. AIKOL Legal Aid Services, in collaboration with PPD Gombak have successfully organised a workshop on 'Hukuman Fizikal Kepada Murid-Murid Sekolah Menurut Undang-Undang di Malaysia' on Thursday morning, 6^th February 2020 at the Al Nawawi Conference Room, AIKOL. This workskop was organised with the objective of enhancing the understanding among headmasters and school teachers on physical punishment according to the relevant laws in Malaysia as well as to discuss legal issues surrounding physical punishment in disciplining and educating school children. This half day workshop was attended by 80 headmasters and teachers from primary schools across Gombak and has received good feedback from the participants. 

The speakers for the workshop were as follows:

Speaker 1: Assoc. Prof. Dr Nasimah Hussain (AIKOL)
Topic: Hukuman Fizikal: Menurut Perspektif Perundangan Islam

Speaker 2: Dr. Farah Nini Dusuki (Faculty of Law, University Malaya)
Topic: Hukuman Fizikal Menurut Undang-undang Sivil di Malaysia

Speaker 3: Prof. Dr. Nora Abdul Hak (AIKOL)
Topic: Mediasi: Penyesaian Pertikaian Alternatif

The workshop is also in line with the flagship project of AIKOL, namely Peace and Justice in the Community.
