SHAH ALAM, 20th of February 2013 – Pertandingan Mereka Cipta Video Dakwah Zakat 2012
organised by Lembaga Zakat Selangor(LZS) managed to attract 34 participation from
nationwide and the participation  of students  from International Islamic University Malaysia
(IIUM) has been enthroned as the first winner in this competition. The prize giving ceremony
has been held in Selangor Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam State.

 

Entitled participation video namely 'Biskut Kering' from the UIAM seized gift in form of cash
RM5,000 with the commendation certificate. According to group leader from IIUM,
Mohammad Fahmi Idris, 23, this success will become morale burner for them to produce
more better video  in the future.

 

“This is our way to preach. May our small contribution can encourage even more (Muslims)
to cash in zakat.”

 

The competition  took place from  September 1 to 31st of December 2012. It was the initiative
by LZS to diversify zakat preaching medium by inviting the public to suggest  idea and  
creativity  throught the production video. This competition also receive cooperation from the
agent  of zakat from all  IPT consist of IIUM,UiTM, UKM, UPM, MMU and UNITEN which was
appointed by LZS.

 

All participation was judged by public jury and also by the professional jury headed  by
the famous film director, Rashid Sibir.  Also present is the Chief Executive Officer LZS,
Mohamed Izam Mohamed Yusof.
