IIUM RECEIVES AL-KHAWARIZMI EXCELLENT AWARD

GOMBAK, 8 January - - International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) brings home three excellence awards in the Islamic Excellence Awards 1441H/2020M Appreciation Dinner organised by National Dakwah Council (MDN) in partnership with the Malaysian Association of ASEAN Entrepreneurs (MAAYE) which held at Royale Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.
His Royal Highness The Sultan of Perak Darul Ridzuan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah attends the Appreciation Dinner and presents all the awards to recipients.
IIUM receives the Al-Khawarizmi Excellence Award for its involvement in education and with exceptional achievement in the development of the education industry. The award is presented to education institution that utilises technology and provides Islamic education services at international level.
According to the Rector of IIUM, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, this achievement is a good start for year 2020 and is the result of the hard work among IIUM community including students and staffs.
“This milestone serves as a catalyst and pushing factor among IIUM community for this new year of 2020 and for us to drive excellence and cooperation to make the university always moving forward and leading in all area which in line with the university’s motto, “Leading the Way” , and I hope with this award, it will make IIUM as an Islamic university that can be the main source of knowledge at international level.” He added.
Besides receiving education institution award, IIUM also received individual awards, Al-Ghazali Scholar of the Year to the former Rector of IIUM, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Kamal Hassan and Ibn Ishaq Al-Kindi Intellectual of the Year to Prof. Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar, Shaikh al-Kulliyyah of ISTAC. A total number of 16 categories of award were presented to recipients.
This excellence award is designed to showcase success stories of individuals and organisations in various fields including academics, corporate, business and social advocacy based on the four core criteria of Growth, Talent Development, innovation and Islamic values. All recipients are verified through a stringent audit process by licensed auditors and evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges.***
