IIUM ROLPOP DAY 2018

Congratulations Kulliyyah of Engineering for successfully organise community services activity through IIUM River of Life Public Outreach Programme (ROLPOP) held on Wednesday 10th October 2018. The programme aimed to create awareness among our society especially IIUM community to love, appreciate and protect our river.

This programme was collaborated with Department of Drainage and Irrigation Malaysia or Jabatan Perairan & Saliran (JPS) through Asia Pacific Environmental Consultant Sdn Bhd (ASPEC) under Public Outreach Programme phase 3B and 4 where Sungai Pusu is part of the project’s coverage.

More than 80 students and staff, including school children has participating in Guide River Walk along the Sungai Pusu river and answer Quiz questions. The Guide River Walk started from IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC) square and ended at Foyer of Moot Court, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Law (AIKOL). 25 winners have been announced during the Closing & Prize Giving Ceremony attended by Haji Md Khairi Selamat (Director of JPS), Dr Ir Lim Chow Hock (Project Director ROLPOP), Dr Low Kwai Sim (Director of ASPEC), Prof Erry Yulian T Adesta (Dean, KoE), consultants and sponsor. The outstanding winners obtained RM100 cash prize and certificate.

Exhibition on River Care was conducted all day, from 9am – 4pm.

The gimmick prepared by ROBOTEAM was presented in the end of the ceremony with the launch of Rakan Sungai Pusu by Haji Md Khairi. The colourful event was witnessed by more than 300 audience.

As the organiser, we would like to thank everyone who involved and gave full support for the success of the event. We have strong belief that the IIUM ROLPOP awareness programme will start the ball rolling to educate the campus community on the importance of preserving our environment (particularly river) is very important to be practised by IIUM community.
