Expert Profile
Dr. Mohamad Hanif is a seasoned optometrist with years of experience in the industry, graduating with a Bachelor of Optometry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1999. He furthered his education with a Master in Health Sciences (Optometry) from UKM in 2011, enhancing his expertise in the field.
Dr Hanif gained valuable experience working in various optometry settings, including retail and clinical practice. His dedication to patient care and service excellence was recognized when he received the 'Best Professional Optometrist' award from Focus Point in 2010. Prior to his current role at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Dr. Hanif served as a lecturer at UCSI, honing his skills in teaching and mentorship.
In 2020, Dr. Hanif achieved a significant milestone by earning his PhD from UKM. His doctoral research entitled ‘Tear Lipid Profile and its Association to Clinical Assessment of Dry Eye’, a cross discipline project which utilizing both clinical and advanced lab techniques for identification dry eye biomarker.
Currently, Dr. Hanif is actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the Kulliyyah of Allied Health Science, IIUM. His research interests span ocular surface health, dry eye management, vision therapy, contact lens care and clinical optometry, contributing to advancements in the field and improving patient outcomes.
