Dear Respected Reseachers, 

Datuk Seri/Dato’ Seri/Datuk/Dato’/Datin/Prof./Ir./Dr./Tuan/Puan, 

Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science and Technology (CREST) is announcing the opening of two (2) Grants to researchers from the institutions of higher learning and the industries, namely;

1.    CREST Open R&D Grant Cycle 2/2020. It is not limited to E&E discipline but should support E&E industry sector.

2.   CREST Targeted R&D Grant Cycle 2/2020. The Targeted R&D projects will drive new technology development and innovation (products, solutions) for intended market verticals.

Areas

(a)  artificial intelligence and machine learning for application in digital or connected healthcare, digital manufacturing, precision farming, future of transportation and sustainable smart living, (b). sensors, devices and software for intelligence systems, (c). imaging, sensing and navigation technologies for drones and driverless/autonomous vehicles, (d). application-specific IC design, (e). advanced wireless communication technologies for smart systems, (f). advanced materials and packaging solutions for semiconductor IC and optoelectronics devices, (g). sustainable energy solutions including harvesting, generating, storage, distribution and management systems, (h). applications of light emitting diodes or optical systems for healthcare, farming, life sciences etc.

Specific to the core technologies in E&E sector, the following technology domain areas are of key interest for further collaboration between industry and academia;

They are inviting proposal for collaboration between academic researchers and industry partners in developing core technologies in Electrical & Electronics, IT, Biomedical and Life Sciences for applications in these emerging market verticals, but not limited to Digital Healthcare, Precision Farming, Future of Transportation, Digital Manufacturing and Smart Sustainable Living (as per Global Sustainable Development Goals), Food & Beverages, Petro and Oleo-chemical and Digital Furniture as below;
