The Disability Services Unit (DSU), Office of the Deputy Rector (Student Affairs), IIUM in collaboration with Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development and Ministry of Higher Education will be organizing the "IIUM NATIONAL VIDEO COMPETITION ON DISABILITY AWARENESS & RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES".

The target participants will be university students as they are the future leaders of the country. A Workshop on Disability Equality and Sensitivity Training will be held for contestants in order to guide them in developing the materials for the videos. The collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) through the Corporate Communications Unit of the Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development has been established where the winning videos will be aired on all relevant television stations to improve public awareness on disability issues.

HALF-DAY IIUM DISABILITY EQUALITY & SENSITIVITY TRAINING WORKSHOP:

Date/Day         : 27 July 2017 / Friday

Venue              : Banquet Hall, Rectory Level 5, IIUM Gombak

SUBMISSION DATE: 20 August 2017

PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY: 15 September 2017

The competition will be divided into 2 categories.

Category 1:

Duration:         45 seconds video on public services announcements

Prize:               1^st prize:  RM 1000.00

                        2^nd prize: RM 700.00

                        3^rd Prize: RM 500.00

Category 2:

            Duration:         5 minutes short video

Prize:               1^st prize:  RM 2000.00

                        2^nd prize: RM 1500.00

                        3^rd Prize: RM 1000.00
