IIUM WINS FOUR NATIONAL BOOK AWARDS 2019

Kuala Lumpur - In conjunction with Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2019, International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) won four awards in book publication at the National Book Award 2019, today, at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).
Among the four publications, a book authored by IIUM Rector, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak and Prof.Dr. Rosnani Hashim clinched the Premier Category with the title “Pentafsiran Baharu Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan Pasca 2020.”
According to IIUM Rector, such appreciation would motivate the book publishers to write and produce more quality books in the future.
“What we can see from these awards is that it could give the opportunity to the industry players including publishers and authors to be actively participating in book publication industry,” he said, adding that such awards could boost the spirit of publishing books among academicians and lecturers while giving benefits to the Malaysians and society in general.
Meanwhile, published by IIUM Press publication, three publications were awarded; “Maqasid Al-Shariah” under the Best Category of Business and Economic (Scientific) by Abdul Ghafar Ismail, Salman Sayed Ali and Achmad Tohirin.
Daleleer Kaur Randawar and Najibah Mohd Zin both received the Best Social Sciences Category for their book entitled, “The Law on Domestic Violence in Malaysia.”
And “Through The Years: The Debate Legacy of IIUM” for the Best Luxury Book Category.
Organized by Yayasan Pembangunan Buku Negara, many fields and categories were contended, including Premier Award, Higher Education Award, Book Industry Award, Literature Award, New Media Award, Soap Opera (Telenovela) Award and Industry Category Award. ***
