KUANTAN - Kulliyyah of Dentistry has been the recipient for award that was given by Pemangku Raja Pahang as "rakan kongsi strategik" for Visit  Pahang Year 2017 at Astana Ballroom,Grand Darul Makmur Hotel on the 10th of February 2018.

The first IIUM International Dental Conference, which was held on the 6^th-8^th October 2017 at Zenith Hotel, Kuantan to commemorate the 10^th anniversary of the establishment of Kulliyyah of Dentistry, was successfully launched by the Chief Minister of Pahang, YAB Dato' Sri Diraja Haji Adnan Bin Haji Yaakob. This three-day internationalconference was the first of its kind to be hosted in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia and in the land of Pahang specifically. This grand conference was supported by Tourism Pahang and the government of the state of Pahang. It was exclusively designed for dentists all over the world to expand their knowledge and strengthened their career as 12 distinguished international and local speakers were invited to this platform to share their knowledge of new development, techniques, services, and current challenges faced in the world of dentistry. More than 20 companies participated in the trade and exhibition and special complimentary tours for participants were also arranged by Tourism Pahang as we promote Visit Pahang Year 2017.

The overall programme include plenary sessions by Prof. Botelho (Hong Kong) & Prof. McDonald (UK) and also special talks in topics such as; updates on oral health, current trend in diagnosis and management of oral disease, updates in dental science and technology, and forum on advances in aesthetics dentistry. 4 workshops and Orthodontic CPD were also held as pre-conference event. Scientific sessions both oral and poster were fruitfully executed and total of 67 scientific abstracts were published in Supplementary Issue of IMJM.
