​Robocon Malaysia 2019 to shape future engineers

Putrajaya – The battle of the robots is to commence again this year in conjunction with the Robot Contest (Robocon) Malaysia 2019. This event is organized by Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) in collaboration with International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

The tournament will take place at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), from 5th to 7th April this year. Invariably, the first step towards the tournament started with the technical briefing at Dewan Za’ba,MOE, Putrajaya.

Representatives from several universities and colleges in Malaysia attended the program with dedication and excitement, the program began with a technical briefing about the rules and regulations of the competition.

The person in charge of this event, Dr. Yasir Mohd. Mustafah, and the Program Manager, Puan Erina Ismail as well as other representatives from MOE and IIUM.

After the briefing, a workshop and sharing session was conducted by the champion of Robocon, Mr. Le Hoang Anh from Vietnam.

“The main objective of this program is to spread awareness to students about the potential that they have,” Dr. Yasir commented.

The ability of young students to create a moving robot, which motions by command, is indeed laborious and it requires talent as well as in-depth knowledge of technology.

“I hope that the youngsters will gain experience, apply their useful skills and cooperate to brainstorm in order to win the competition and hopefully, the Grand Prix,” She stated.

In other words, many young competitors will have the opportunity to compete against each other by utilizing their problem-solving skills, creativity as well as critical thinking skills.

With the presence of fresh faces and positive attitude, it is hoped that Malaysia will reign in this year’s domestic competition as well as the Grand Prix, which will be held in Mongolia in the near future.
