Training on Tropical Ecosystem Health and Prevention on Wildlife Zoonoses

On 26-30th April 2019, Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences had sent six representative from Department of Biomedical Science to ‘Training on Tropical Ecosystem Health and Prevention on Wildlife Zoonoses’. This programme was organized by MyOHUN in collaboration with University Putra Malaysia (UPM), University Malaya (UM), University Kebangsaan Malaysia(UKM) and University Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
This programme invites students from different university and discipline to work together in preventing wildlife zoonoses.
The objectives of this training are:
a. To train wildlife workforce on the necessary measures to prevent zoonoses when dealing with wildlife in-situ and ex-situ
b. To raise awareness of possible pathways for zoonoses in a tropical forest ecosystem amongst wildlife workforce
c. To emphasise the importance of maintaining a healthy tropical ecosystem and how it can prevent zoonoses.
This training exposed students to their role in the society to achieve the objectives of one health.
