Azhar Mohd Ibrahim is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He earned his PhD from the School of Computer Sciences at Universiti Sains Malaysia, specializing in collective intelligence. His research expertise encompasses computational intelligence, reinforcement learning, and multi-agent-based collective intelligence.
With a keen interest in studying cooperation dilemmas in robotics, Azhar employs a neuro-symbolic approach that hybridizes reasoning entities, computational intelligence, and deep reinforcement learning. He is particularly enthusiastic about investigating the intricate dynamics of cooperation among intelligent agents and robots, delving into the challenges of constructing emergency response and navigation systems. This emphasizes the benefits of such cooperation for human society.
Azhar boasts an extensive track record, including numerous publications in esteemed high-impact journals. He has successfully secured several research grants and is actively involved in supervising PhD scholars, making significant contributions to the field of robotics and cooperative intelligence.
