Expert Profile
Nor Azlin Tajuddin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She received her Ph.D. in Environmental Anthropology from the University of Western Australia in 2013 where she conducted comparative studies on urban river pollution in Kuala Lumpur and Adelaide. While she was in Adelaide, she became a member of Conservation Volunteer Australia and Friends of St Peters Billabong, engaging herself with on-the-ground environmental restoration activities.
Prior to joining IIUM, she was with Institute for Strategic Research as a Principal Researcher. A recipient of Vice Chancellor's Discretionary Fund Award at the University of Western Australia in 2010, Azlin's recent interest is applying anthropological/sociological approach to examine the impact of natural disasters such as flash foods. She is also a member of the Australian Anthropological Society, Malaysian Nature Society and Qualitative Research Association Malaysia.
